Aaron Priven's Bio
Aaron Priven has served as Public Information Systems Coordinator for AC Transit, the bus transit agency serving the Oakland, California area, since 2000. He is responsible for AC Transit's route and system maps, point-of-travel signage, and other information products helping bus riders get where they need to go. He was the first dedicated editorial staff member at ClariNet Communications Corp., the first commercial content provider on the Internet, where he served from 1993 to 1998.
Mr. Priven has been active as a volunteer with several environmental and pro-transit groups. These include the Alliance for AC Transit / Bus Riders Union, Greenbelt Alliance, Peninsula Rail 2000, the Transportation and Land Use Coalition, and the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club, where he has served as Transportation and Compact Growth Chair, Conservation Chair, and Communications Chair, as well as Conservation Chair for the Northern Alameda County Regional Group. He was a Volunteer of the Year for Urban Ecology in 1998.
He has a B.A. in Modern Society and Social Thought from the University of California, Santa Cruz and is completing a Master's in Planning and Development Studies from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Priven is a Bay Area native and has lived in Oakland since 1997.
